ABOUT THE VINE & CELLAR
The vines are located on the Altenberg de Bergbieten Grand Cru sites. The grapes are hand-harvested, then pressed and fermented in stainless steel with temperature control to preserve the freshness. The wine is then aged on fine lees in stainless steel tanks.
ABOUT FRÉDÉRIC MOCHEL
Domaine Frédéric Mochel is an old small family-owned vineyard of 10 ha situated in Traenheim, some 20km west of Strasbourg, in the Northern Part of Alsace. They have been making wines since 1669 and Guillaume Mochel is currently the 14th generation of winemakers. Half of their holdings are well placed in the Grand Cru Altenberg Bergbieten which have been recognised as a fine wine producer area since the 12th century. Guillaume is always producing exquisite gourmet wines that balance purity, intensity and a vibrant yet subtle aromatic character.
